Jessica joined Advocate Law in March 2021 after working as a Criminal Defense Lawyer for two and half years at BARR LLP. Jessica has represented clients in various jurisdictions throughout Alberta and in both the Provincial Court and the Court of Queen’s Bench. Jessica is a fierce and relentless advocate for her clients and maintains good relationships with both Crown Prosecutors and the Criminal Defense bar. Jessica is driven by the need to explore every possible avenue in defending her clients who have been charged with a criminal offense.
Jessica has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Alberta. She returned to the University of Alberta to obtain her law degree after working in the private sector for several years. Jessica brings a wealth of knowledge and wisdom with her into the way she practices law, and she is unshakeable under pressure. Jessica’s unique approach to the law means that she spots issues early on that lead to favourable results for her clients.
Jessica was the President of the Indigenous Law Students Association during her second and third year of Law school. While in Law school, Jessica also volunteered for Student Legal Services Criminal Division. Jessica received the Metis scholar Award in both her second and third year of Law school. In her graduating year, she received the Hadjuk Gibbs Award for academic standing and commitment to volunteering.
Jessica maintains a Criminal Law practice with a focus on various types of Assaults, Weapons charges, Drug Charges and Murder, and Attempted Murder charges. Jessica hears from client feedback that the extra time and attention that she provides each client is both refreshing and appreciated.
